There seems to be a worldwide hunger for a greater spiritual understanding and connection. This may be why I've read Silver Cord several times and give copies of it to anyone who seems the least bit interested.
Silver Cord is a persuasive book because it describes human nature within a spiritual framework that differs from those espoused by organized religions. It was authored by Barham and Greene, clinical psychologists who have published two related books (Bridging Two Worlds and Our Spiritual Connection). All three books necessarily draw upon the authors' spiritual experiences that are as well-documented as possible.
Silver Cord describes the structure of the human personality in terms of spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical quadrants. While the latter three quadrants are common elements of mainstream psychology, inclusion of an explicitly defined spiritual quadrant is not. Oddly, most modern psychologists avoid integrating spirituality even though throughout history it has been central to the human experience. Because Barham and Greene describe this breadth of human experience, it is quite easy for readers to relate to the spiritual framework in Silver Cord. There are descriptions of the nature of the creator (i.e., the Source), souls, and universes.
Here are some of the basic tenets presented in the Silver Cord:
The Source (i.e., God) is energy that creates energy. Some refer to the Source's energy pattern as Heaven. The Source creates only positive energies and universal laws that guide them. It is benign and not all-knowing. The Source created two other universes that are designed to evolve so that the Source Itself evolves.Read more ›

The Silver Cord changed my life and view of spirituality. In a time of chaos and change, The Silver Cord gives us some excellent "inside" view of the "unobstructed". The author's conversations with "entities" of the unobstructed universe are revealing and powerfull. I recommend this book to everyone I meet

I am ordering two more books today. I can't remember how many I've ordered and given away to people that were looking for answers, to our spirituality, that made sense. This is a wonderful primer and reference book. In my opinion it should be in everyone's library and read often.
